About the wine

Aglianico del Taburno is a distinguished DOCG from the Benevento province of Campania, centered around the slopes of the Taburno-Camposauro massif. This wine is crafted primarily from the Aglianico grape, which thrives in the region's volcanic and limestone-rich soils. The denomination produces robust red wines, including a Riserva, and a fresh, aromatic Rosato. The reds are known for their deep ruby color, evolving into garnet with age, and a structured, dry profile with persistent, characteristic aromas. The Riserva requires significant aging, including time in wood, resulting in a more complex, harmonious, and full-bodied expression. The region's unique microclimate, characterized by well-ventilated hillsides and significant diurnal temperature shifts, imparts elegance and longevity to the wines. Since its elevation to DOCG status in 2011, the denomination has emphasized strict viticultural standards, including high planting densities and controlled yields, to ensure the highest quality expression of this ancient, noble grape variety.
