Primitivo di Manduria Dolce Naturale
About the wine
Primitivo di Manduria Dolce Naturale is a prestigious DOCG dessert wine from Puglia, representing the sweet, concentrated expression of the Primitivo grape. Unlike the dry versions of the denomination, this wine is crafted from 100% Primitivo grapes that undergo natural drying processes—either on the vine or in controlled environments—to achieve high sugar concentration. The resulting wine is characterized by an intense ruby-red color with garnet reflections, a complex bouquet often featuring notes of plum, and a velvety, sweet palate. With a minimum natural alcohol content of 16% and a significant residual sugar level of at least 50 g/l, it is a powerful, harmonious wine that reflects the warm, Mediterranean climate of the Ionian coast and the Salento peninsula. The production is strictly limited to specific communes in the provinces of Taranto and Brindisi, where traditional viticultural practices and low yields ensure the exceptional quality and longevity for which this historic Puglian wine is renowned.
