About the wine

Castelli di Jesi Verdicchio Riserva represents the pinnacle of the Marche region's most celebrated white wine. Elevated to DOCG status in 2010, this Riserva is crafted primarily from the Verdicchio grape, which thrives in the limestone-rich, hilly terrain of the Esino river basin. Unlike the standard DOC version, the Riserva requires a minimum of 18 months of aging, including at least six months in the bottle, resulting in a wine of remarkable complexity and longevity. These wines are characterized by a deep straw-to-gold color, an intense bouquet of ripe yellow fruit, citrus, and honeyed undertones, and a palate that is both powerful and elegant. The 'Classico' designation further distinguishes wines sourced from the most historic, central production zone. With its signature sapidity and structural depth, this wine is a testament to the unique mesoclimates of the Ancona and Macerata provinces, offering a sophisticated evolution of the Verdicchio grape.

Production & aging

The production zone spans 24 communes across the provinces of Ancona and Macerata, centered around the Esino river basin. The area is characterized by hilly landscapes ranging from 80 to 750 meters above sea level, benefiting from maritime breezes and the protective influence of the Apennine mountains. The 'Classico' sub-zone covers the most historic, central part of this territory, excluding specific areas near the Misa river and the coastal communes of Ostra and Senigallia.
