Brachetto d'Acqui
About the wine
Brachetto d'Acqui DOCG is a distinctive aromatic red wine from the Piedmont region, celebrated for its delicate, musky bouquet and vibrant ruby color. Produced primarily from the Brachetto grape, it is available in three distinct styles: a still red, a lively Spumante, and a concentrated Passito. The wine is defined by its aromatic profile, often described as having notes of rose, strawberry, and spice. The Spumante version, produced via the Charmat method, is particularly renowned for its fine, persistent perlage and balanced sweetness, making it an elegant choice for desserts or as an aperitif. The Passito style offers a richer, more intense expression with higher alcohol and residual sugar. The production is strictly limited to the hilly terrains of the provinces of Asti and Alessandria, where the specific calcareous-marly soils contribute to the wine's unique character and aromatic complexity.
