About the wine

Canelli DOCG represents the pinnacle of Moscato Bianco production in the Piedmont region, centered around the historic town of Canelli. Recognized as a distinct DOCG in 2023, this denomination focuses on the aromatic complexity and longevity of the Moscato Bianco grape. The wines are characterized by their signature floral and fruity bouquet—featuring notes of acacia, peach, and sage—and a delicate, sweet palate balanced by refreshing acidity. A defining feature of the Canelli DOCG is the inclusion of a 'Riserva' typology, which requires a minimum of 30 months of aging, including 20 months in the bottle. This extended maturation allows the wine to develop complex secondary aromas, such as candied fruit and spice, while maintaining the grape's inherent freshness. The production area, defined by its unique sedimentary marine soils and hilly terrain, demands manual harvesting and precise viticultural practices, ensuring that the resulting wines possess a structural depth and sapidity that distinguish them from other Moscato-based denominations.
