Colli Euganei Fior d'Arancio
About the wine
Colli Euganei Fior d'Arancio DOCG is a distinctive Italian denomination from the Veneto region, centered on the unique volcanic hills near Padua. The wine is produced primarily from the Moscato Giallo grape, which thrives in the area's Mediterranean-influenced climate and mineral-rich volcanic soils. The denomination is notable for its versatility, offering three distinct styles: a still version, a fragrant spumante, and a concentrated passito. The wines are celebrated for their intense aromatic profile, often exhibiting notes of citrus, peach, and white flowers. The passito style, in particular, showcases the region's traditional expertise in natural grape drying, resulting in a complex, sweet, and persistent wine. The combination of specific volcanic terroir, significant diurnal temperature shifts, and careful site selection allows producers to craft wines that balance high aromatic intensity with refreshing acidity, making them a benchmark for aromatic Moscato in Italy.
