Montello Rosso
About the wine
Montello Rosso DOCG, recognized in 2011, represents the pinnacle of red wine production in the Treviso province of Veneto. Produced in the hilly areas of the Montello and Colli Asolani, this wine is a Bordeaux-style blend that leverages the region's unique marly-clay soils and favorable microclimate. The blend is anchored by Cabernet Sauvignon (40-70%), complemented by Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Carmenère (30-60%). These wines are characterized by their structure, longevity, and elegance, typically displaying a ruby red color that evolves toward garnet with age. The palate is dry, robust, and harmonious, often featuring subtle spicy notes and a refined, ethereal bouquet developed through mandatory oak aging. The production process is strictly regulated, requiring a minimum of 18 months of aging for the base version and 24 months for the 'Superiore' typology, ensuring a consistent, high-quality expression of this distinct Venetian terroir.
