Recioto di Gambellara
About the wine
Recioto di Gambellara DOCG is a prestigious sweet wine from the Veneto region, crafted exclusively from the Garganega grape. Produced in the volcanic hills near Vicenza, this wine is defined by the traditional 'appassimento' process, where grapes are dried on racks or hung in 'picai' to concentrate sugars and aromatics. The resulting wine, available in both 'Classico' and 'Spumante' styles, is celebrated for its elegance, structure, and complex profile of ripe fruit, honey, and subtle vanilla notes. The volcanic basaltic soils and significant diurnal temperature shifts in the Gambellara area contribute to the wine's characteristic sapidity and mineral depth. It stands as one of Italy's most refined dessert wines, offering a harmonious balance between sweetness and acidity, often with a delicate, signature bitter finish.
